Kälte, Schnee Und Eis - Rekapitulation Der Winterszeit (BadMoodMan Music)

Once again I received another fine release of this obscure German Black Ambient act, this time from Solitude Production’s sub-label BadMoodMan Music… I must admit I wasn’t very exited to hear this release, I have never liked compilation albums (with a couple of exceptions of course), but this work just leave me breathless; the music this album contains isn’t in fact any “new” material, but isn’t a mere compilation either, this work collects some interesting ambient versions of previously released songs; every track here is carefully treated in a soft and atmospheric manner, removing all kind of blurry metallic riffs and replacing the grim blackish vocals with some mysterious whispering vocalizations… The majestic keyboard atmospheres are accurately complemented by the synthetic percussion, maintaining intact the trademarked, original sound of Vinterriket, which harmonized by the already mentioned whispering vocal work of Christoph results in a highly oneiric, passionate and mysterious opus... since the opening track, you get immerse in a cold, mysterious and obscurely fascinating world, where the winter reigns supreme and the night seems to have no end, a world of solitude and disturbing beauty full of obscurity and wintry majesty… This album is a whole hypnotic and personal experience, and probably one of the band’s strongest works to date… Is always highly enjoyable for me to hear to Mr. Christoph Ziegler mysterious compositions, I think Vinterriket is far one of the most original underground acts out there, and this work only proves that… by the way the standard jewel cased version of this album is limited to 1000 copies while the digibook version is limited to 500, so you better be hurry if you don’t want to miss this masterpiece out… “Kälte, Schnee Und Eis - Rekapitulation Der Winterszeit” is a must-have, not only for Vinterriket’s diehards, but for everyone interested or versed in Black Ambient music.
