Demo IV (Self Released)
Nuclear
Throne is a quite new Finnish band
formed in 2008
and this
work I’ve got in my hands is the band’s
fourth demo and latest release… Just by
looking at the cover art, you’ll get an
idea of what the three compositions this
demo includes are all about; pure
war-worshipping Black Metal at its
finest expression. Nuclear Throne
delivers here a very interesting form of
no-bullshit Black Metal, full of
aggressive melodies and brutal Death
Metal overtones, where the mid to low
tone vocalizations in unholy communion
with semi-complex structures, a killer
drum work and a brutal, yet precise,
riffing assault, creates three tracks
and eleven minutes of Satanic sonic
massacre… The technical level of this
band is certainly remarkable, which
complemented by a clear and powerful
sounding production, becomes a trademark
on this demo. This work is one of the
most impressive demos I’ve heard in a
while, the band’s intelligent and well
elaborated proposal in conjunction with
a top-notch production is not the kind
of stuff we’re used to hear on a demo
work. The music on “Demo IV” is quite
original as well; even when we can
intentionally find some traces of
influential Finnish bands such Beherit
and Impaled Nazarene, the music of
Nuclear Throne sounds fresh and
coherent… The only thing about this demo
is that I would really liked to hear a
more extense work; the eleven minutes
this demo lasts are too short to fully
appreciate the power of this infernal
proposal… anyway, this demo had just
blown my fucking head off… What else can
I say? I strongly recommend you to get
this demo (which is entirely available
for download at Nuclear Throne site
www.nuclearthrone.net), I
guarantee you will not be disappointed.
