Promo 2010 (Self Released)

 Masteriis is a mysterious Norwegian band formed by Ramnsvarturh and Morfanhus, and this promo is the only release of this infernal duo so far… This work consists in just two tracks, clocked at almost eight minutes of intense and excellently executed Black Metal; the first track “Dødsdom” starts as a storming and chaotic Black Metal piece, with some fast as hell, machinegun-sounding drums, electrifying riffs and unholy mid tone vocalizations, this composition also features some mid paced, double bass drum driven passages, which adorned with by some melodic and subtle lead guitar lines, results in a varied and complex piece… The second and last composition on this record, “Into The Infinite Darkness”, is a mid to slow pace piece of macabre and mysterious Black Metal surrounded by a somewhat tragic guitar driven atmosphere. Once again the unholy communion between vocals and drums set the whole structure for this composition, with some quite remarkable results… The production of this promo is completely top notch; the whole record is crystal clear and powerful sounding. Even when Masteriis undoubtedly delivers here a somewhat original and intense release, I would really liked to hear a more extensive work, these two excellent tracks may give you a little sample of the band’s proposal, but will certainly leave asking for more… I can’t wait to hear more of this band; I hope this duo can capitalize the enormous potential showed at this brief but strong debut… This promo is limited to 250 copies (presented in a nice underground looking 7” EP like sleeve), so if you have a chance, try to get it out, you will not be disappointed, and if you can’t get this work, just wait for a second, hopefully more extensive and massive release… but do what you do, keep and eye on this band.
