Just Fuck Off
(Suffering Jesus Productions)
This
last full length of this Anti Zionist
Canadian Crust Black Metal act is a
joint effort between Suffering Jesus
Productions, Sabbathid Records and New
Scream Industry. This third album and
second release of the year, after
“L'Appel du Neant” (demo tape under
Harsh Brutal Cold Productions which
include seven Ramones covers) continues
the path of destruction of its previous
album “Insignifiance”, that is to say
early 80’s Punk Rock infused structures
mixed with savage and cruel early
Scandinavian Black Metal sound in the
finest vein of Darkthrone’s
“Transilvanian Hunger”, but this time
the music of Malveillance seems to be
slightly more crude and “evil” sounding,
the Black Metal atmospheres reign over
this album, and that becomes evident in
tracks like the asphyxiating “Chagrinés
et Misérables”, where the sharpened
riffing is mixed with intense blast
beats passages creating a black piece,
worthy of any early 90’s Scandinavian
Black Metal album. The crust-inspired
drum bases are still there, providing
aggressiveness, violent attitude and an
interesting Thrash-like aura; just
listen to tracks like “Extensive
Slaughter” (this specific song reminded
me a lot the sound of Mötorhead). This
album consist in 22 tracks (!) clocked
at 37 minutes, all songs are very short,
ranging from 1.30 to 2 minutes long and
seems to follow the same pattern,
creating a sort of 37 minutes piece
divided in 22 sick movements, but the
music never falls into monotony, in
fact, at least to me this album became
really short. The production of “Just
Fuck Off” is very raw, with a very
blurry and messy sound, fitting with the
dirty, aggressive and obscure concept,
but maybe a slightly better production
would improve the whole music. An
interesting detail is that unlike the
most of the one man Black Metal bands,
Malveillance holds an entirely
anti-misanthropic posture; in fact as
the inlay cover says “this Just Fuck Off
is dedicated to all the misanthropic
losers holding this Cd”…quite unusual
don’t you think? Anyway, this album is a
potent slab of Crust tinged Black Metal
worthy of attention, and if you enjoyed
“Insignifiance” you will undoubtedly
enjoy this release as well. (AP) |
