From the
lands of France, this Death Metal band comes, not only playing a good Brutal
Death Metal, but also including interesting doses of Flamenco music in its
melodies and structures. This extremely original (and still brutal as hell)
musical hybrid is an interesting reference of the actual potential of the
Extreme Metal sound and a great exponent of the French scene…
BB:
First I would like to thanks you for giving us this interview. There's
really few info about Impureza in the net. Can you tell us about the band
beginnings?
With Leño, we thank about to play something different, not like our
previous bands, just playing only brutal death metal. We decided cause of
Leño's Spanish roots, to mix the flamenco music and extreme metal. It
worked. So we decided to found Impureza.
BB: What's your current line up?
I (Lamas) play bass and vocals, Leño and Rafael play guitars and
Guillermo drums.
BB: I read Impureza was formed from the ashes of a band called Inner
Feuds. I have never heard about this band. Can you tell us a little about
it?
It was not exactly like that. I decided to leave IF cause of personal
differences. After having founded Impureza, two of the IF musicians joined
us.
BB: The main thing that catched my attention was the Spanish
influence in your music. lyrically and musically. Why is that?
As I said upper, Leño is Spanish. We loved the sound that Flamenco gives.
And singing in Spanish is a very interesting challenge, it's more brutal I
think.
BB: I understand you have some studies on flamenco music. Am I right?
Leño is studying flamenco. You're right. It permits to go further in our
music.
BB: Why you choose a name like Impureza?
Impureza means Impurity. We thought it looks like what the music we
wanted to do. Religion claims its purity, we don't.
BB: The only work from you I have listened is your split with
Hellspawn and Hateful "Tworzenia, resurrezione, démence" which also
contained your previous work "Y Correra Tu Sangre". Can you tell us about
following work "Ruina De La Pestilencia"?
It was our second demo. The drummer for this cd was the former drummer in
Innerfeuds, he's plays faster than the previous one. So we could make faster
and various songs. It changed a lot in our music. We decided too, to include
more flamenco parts.
BB: What are your lyrical sources of inspirations?
Essentially about the enslavement used by religions authorities and the
things they try to hide.
BB: Probably my favourite track of the entire "Tworzenia,
resurrezione, démence" is "La Checa Del Perverso". This track also seems to
be quite special to you; it appears on every work of you. Can you tell us
more about this song?
We really love to play this song. It talks about a special confession act
done by a priest. We made a video clip for this song. You can see it on our
myspace page and actually on MCM
France and
Belgium. The audience becomes crazy when we play it.
BB: What bands influenced directly the music of Impureza?
There are a lot of influences in our band: we love extreme metal stuffs.
But everyone of us has his special shit: Guillermo loves heavy metal, Leño
acoustic stuffs, Rafael is a great fan of HxC and crusty music. Maybe you
can feel them in our music, but it's not a real intention from our own.
BB: What kind of music are you listening nowadays?
Acutally we listen the last Impureza!!! We are currently mixing our 3rd
demo!!!
BB: How you get involved with Nihilistic Holocaust? Why you decided
to release "Ruina De La Pestilencia" as a self production?
Gab got our first demo and noted it was a cool stuff. But as he said ,
the second one was most powerful and he decided to include them in the split
cd with Hateful and hellspawn.
For the release, we had no choice, because we don't have a producer and we
have no news from a label. But we got a massive support from the underground
with webzines and public since that split cd.
BB: When can we expect a new Impureza release. maybe a full length
album?
At the fall of October, you can get "En el desierto de la creencia".It
will be a new demo before, we hope, a full length album. Some of the new
tracks are available on
http://www.myspace.com/impureza.
BB: What are your future plans as Impureza?
We begin the gigs in November to promote the last release, this summer we
will think about for a full length album.
BB: Thanks again for your time and answers. These last lines are all
yours.
Thanks for your support! And don't forget to listen what the brutal
flamenco music is!!!!
Take care!
