Dark Future (Brutal Bands)
Pure
Death Metal brutality in its most crude
and straight form is exactly what this
Czech brutal quartet delivers at “Dark
Future”, the band’s third studio album…
Before a quite long hiatus taken by the
band after their second album “Hell
Unleashed”, released in 2004, this
vicious quartet re-appears with nine
tracks of pure Death Metal savagery.
Musically “Dark Future” is a pretty
technical album; complex structures fill
this opus entirely, there are a lot of
tempo and atmosphere changes, which
conjugated with the brutal musicianship,
results in a very interesting and catchy
sound. The proposal of this Czech band
seems to fall somewhere between the
brutal sound of Morbid Angel and the
sinister atmospheres of Incantation; the
brutality and obscurity are malignantly
combined at this opus in order to create
a blasphemous and disgusting form of
Death Metal of the highest caliber. Even
when this album can be hardly labeled as
“original” (every element on this album
sounds like we heard it somewhere else
before), there’re certainly some
freshness at the whole album structure;
the accurate blend of blasting passages
with doom-filled slow parts, the guitar
work with its crushing riffs and twisted
sense of melody, the guttural and gory
vocals, the perfectly performed,
unmerciful drumming and the deep bass
lines… all these elements sounds, in its
conjunction, as a powerful and
intelligently composed opus. “Dark
Future” shows the great potential and
actual skills of this powerful band, I
hope this album can reach a wider
audience, than the band’s preceding
efforts… I highly recommend this album
not only to the Brutal Death Metal
audience, but to everyone interested in
the brutal yet enigmatic and sinister
music… (AP) |
