CHAMBERCRAFT

Delirium Demo ‘04   (Panzer 6 Productions)

This time Chambercraft changes it sound to a more obscure approach. Delirium is an incredibly good piece of uncompromised Black Metal. The first song “Full Moon Suicide” is the “blackest” song of the demo (and my favourite as well), it sounds like a mid paced version of Immortal with some Ad Hominem hints, specially in the vocal work, it is distorted and hateful, the melodies are pure fucking war!! With some interesting guitar lines and great drumming. Then “Poisoned and Bleeding to Death” (I really like this name!!) is more mid to slow paced, but still amazingly dark. The guitar lines are agonizing and nightmarish, the voices are once again the protagonist, those reminds me a little the voices of Abbath (Immortal) in “Blizzard Beasts”, with some almost spoken parts, absolutely great! This song is quite enigmatic; in fact it has some occultist aura that makes it a killer piece of black art. The last track “The Throne Room” follows the same way than the second one, that is to say, mid to slow paced, with a dark atmosphere, a little (just a little) more melodic than the previous songs, and the voices here are quite arranged, those sounds cavernous and reverberant, that adds an extra point of obscurity to this song, the music is pretty more monotone but hypnotic and incredibly fascinating, it finish with some guitar noises and some whispers-like vocals. This demo is highly coherent, dark and evil from the beginning to the end. The production is still raw, but far better than the last time, this time the sound is not a problem (unless to me). This demo will reach the “cult” status soon… Remember it. (AP)
