Desecration Of The Holy Kingdom (Full
Moon Productions)
Woooooww!!
What was that?! It seems that Black
Witchery is actually one of the most
brutal Black/Death Metal bands in
today’s scene, their unholy music
follows the path of the Canadian masters
of Black Metal Blasphemy; in fact I
think BW is more War Metal than Black
Metal. Totally chaotic noisy and fast
drumming, hateful vocals, usual Black
voices in fact, in other context I’ll
said there’s nothing special here, but
in the whole context of “Desecration Of
The Holy Kingdom” the voice fits
perfectly with the storming guitars and
the hellish atmosphere, there are some
keyboards adding some estrange aura in
some places. There’s a couple of covers
in this destructive album; “Deathrash”
of the Brazilian gods Sarcofago and
“Ritual” of their mentors Blasphemy. The
whole album is an explosive and hateful
mass of war and destruction; the main
problem is that into this nightmarish
storm of heaviness, some good ideas are
lost, buried by a wall of noise, I’m not
talking about the production, it’s
pretty good for the style, I’m talking
about music; this album may turns a
little bored after a couple of songs, is
like they used only one base for the
entire album. But despite of this (big)
detail it isn’t a bad album at all, but
isn’t a masterpiece either. (AP) |
