Hung,
Drawn and Quarter-Poundered (Grindethic
Records)
Memorable
sick Death/Grind from the UK, this Mcd
contains 26 minutes of disgusting sonic
aggression (really less than 20 minutes
because the last track have several
minutes of silence before some short
spoken outro), with gore movies samples
here and there (as usual in this style)
this rotting piece of flesh varies in
tempos, and heaviness; you will find
here the usual growls and the sick high
tones (mostly), this mix of voices
reminds me a little the early works of
Scattered Remnants but this time
the voices are made by two guys (ore
just one with a wide vocal range?).
There is also a wide range of tempos,
from slow crushing sound to blasting
beats as usual in Grindcore, ala
Cephalic Carnage but with an
undercooked, raw production, this adds a
sinister aura to the whole Mcd, but you
can still distinguish (hardly, but
possible) the sounds between each other.
I really like the experimental approach
of this band, with industrial touches
and all kind of weird effects, which
makes the music pretty “digestible”
since the first listen. The only
negative point of this sick Mcd is the
last song, not the song really (it’s
really good indeed) but the pointless
loooong minutes of silence (and the
artwork is horrible…but who cares). We
just have to wait for their album debut
and hope it be as fucking sick as this
great Mcd. (AP) |
