Journey Through The End Of Life
(Total Holocaust Records)
This obscure Black Metal comes from the
North-East Italy. The music this band
plays, can be described as Black Metal
in the early 90's Nordic tradition,
highly influenced by the sound of Burzum
(original?...pff!). The music varies
between some slow melodic parts and fast
cruel Black Metal passages, the vocal
work here is pretty remarkable,
consisting in some trollish infernal
shrieks. The album is melancholic and
melodic, with an obscure aura, still
repetitive and cyclic. The band bases it
music in the melodic yet hellish
atmosphere than the furious and
sometimes senseless, destructive
heaviness. The guitars are a Black Metal
standard, but pretty legible, the
drumming slow to fast, reminds me a lot
the drumming at the early (pre Filosofem)
Burzum’s works. The final song is “Spell
Of Destruction” a Burzum cover fits
perfectly with the concept of whole
album. A good album with some remarkable
points in the over saturated “Old
School” Black Metal scene.(AP) |
