First Born Evil (TAF
Productions)
From
the lands of Italy, this fairly new band
comes;
Aposthate
was born in 2004, formed by members of
Thy Anthems Fades and Heretical, shortly
after their creation the band recorded
“First Born Evil” their first (and only
at the time) blasphemous strike. The
band delivers here an extreme blend of
Death and Black Metal with some Thrash
structures. The music of
Aposthate
moves at full speed, driven by savage
drums, full of chaotic blast beat
passages, pounding double bass parts and
an extreme, technical performance with
excellent structures and velocities
changes… in the finest vein of the
technical US Death Metal... The guitars
are quite blurry and turbulent, playing
with a mid tuning sounds pretty much
into the Death Metal parameters, but
plays obscure, blackened “melodies”
mixed with restless savagery adding a
slightly Black Metal sound, there are
some remarkable lead guitar lines here
and there, including some more
traditional Metal sound… The vocal are
mid toned deathly grunts adding an (even
more) Death Metal atmosphere. As
separate elements the music of
Aposthate
could be easily labelled as Death Metal,
but as a whole, this album has obscure
as hell atmospheres, only comparable
with the infernal Black Metal auras.
“First Born Evil” consist in eight songs
clocked at 24 minutes of pure Extreme
Metal, all songs are quite sort, the
longest one reaches the 3:30 minutes;
this adds variety and dynamism to the
whole work. The entire album sound
incredible strong, with a good
production improving the band excellent
technical performance. Although “First
Born Evil” was recorded few months after
their beginning, Aposthate
reaches, at this album, an incredibly
high quality
and mature sound… definitely a
demolishing debut. (AP)
