Soliel Noir    (Autistiartili Records)

 Mmmm… strange music made these Canadian Metallers. The Ep starts with a strange pseudo-noise loooong intro called “Hymne a la Guerre”, with repetitive riffs, that sound like were played in reverse, this creates a hypnotic/narcotic/martial feeling. Then comes “Soliel Noir”, with a mid to slow paced Blackened Death Metal, this song is really good, with simple but effective guitar riffs and some guitar solos, the voices are growling (blackish) screams, this song reminds me the Death Metal era of Dark Throne. Then comes “Celui Qui Est Sanspeur”  my favorite song, it has some mid paced thrashing riffing, and the voice is the highlight of this track, it sound like Attila Cishtar in the classic song “The Misteriis Dom Sathanas”, great song! But the song after that must be a joke (and a bad one) “ Le Retour Du Soleil Noir” is a stupid punk rock song!! With a really awful clean voice, it sounds like a teenage happy version of Misfits… no comments. The Ep finish with an atmospheric/noise  guitar song in the same vein of the first track, but less interesting. All this Ep has a really crappy production, the amount of bass is huge! I must admit that I like bad produced album, demos or whatever, but this is just too much!! It would be a great work if weren’t those two big mistakes; the horrible sound and the crappy punk song.
